This page explains how to delete your BALANCE app account and associated
personal data, in compliance with Google Play’s account deletion requirements.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Sign-out is not account deletion. Signing out may keep your
cloud backup intact. To permanently remove your account and cloud data, follow
the steps below.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
If you are signed in with Google:
Open BALANCE on your Android device.
Go to Settings (gear icon).
Scroll to the Account section.
Tap Delete account.
Read the confirmation message and tap Delete permanently.
Deletion begins immediately after confirmation. For security, Google may ask
you to sign in again before the account can be removed.
You can also open this page from Settings → Account deletion
under the General section.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, send an email to
balance.dev.app@gmail.com
from the same Google email address linked to your BALANCE account.
Include:
Subject line: BALANCE account deletion request
Your Google email address used in the app
A clear statement that you want permanent deletion of your account and associated data
We will verify your identity and complete deletion within 30 days,
and confirm by email when finished.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we delete:
Your Firebase Authentication account (Google Sign-In link to BALANCE)
Your Firestore user profile and private cloud backup under users/{uid}, including:
Transactions, categories, and wallets
App settings and preferences synced to the cloud
Reminders synced to the cloud
Assistant prompt preferences stored in your profile
Your entry in the email lookup table used for shared-wallet invitations
Local app data on the device where you perform deletion (reset to default state)
Your membership in shared wallets (you are removed as a member)
Shared wallets you own
If you are the owner of a shared wallet, deleting your account
will delete that shared wallet for all members in the cloud.
Other members may retain local copies on their devices until they remove them.

Partial deletion (without deleting your account)
Without deleting your entire account, you can:
Delete individual wallets or transactions inside the app.
Clear local data when signing out (choose “delete local data” in the sign-out dialog).
Export your data before deletion using in-app export tools.
Guest / offline use (no account)
If you use BALANCE without signing in, no cloud account exists. Your data
stays only on your device. To remove it:
